It's Worth the Move

As Manitoba’s third largest city, Steinbach continues to experience an unprecedented level of growth. Known as the ‘Automotive City’, a name coined by A.D. Penner, Steinbach was officially incorporated as a town on 31 December 1946. Approximately forty percent of Steinbach residents claim German ancestry. Steinbach's economy has traditionally been focused around agriculture; however, as the regional economic hub of southeastern Manitoba, Steinbach has

significant employment in the financial services industry, automobile sales, tourism, retail, and manufacturing. It is unique in that there are no railways or rivers passing through the town, so transportation to and from Steinbach has always been via road. With nearly 50,000 residents in the city and surrounding area, the community has become an increasingly popular place for both workers and employers and has the lowest taxes in the province by mill rate.
